The idea of actually meeting your life - face to face - was a very interesting and unique concept that I’d never heard of before. However, I’m not really sure the idea was pulled off very well. There wasn’t enough back story of how the life’s ‘life’ works outside of when he was around Lucy.

Cecelia Ahern for me is one of those funny authors.
I LOVED PS I Love You and Where Rainbows End, but I didn't like the ones that were released after those and I didn't bother getting the last release.
I saw this on the Amazon Vine newsletter and I thought "ok ill give her one more go."

I almost found myself regretting it. BUT....Once you get past the first 100 pages and the confusion, the story and the characters draw you in and I found myself not being able to put it down.

Lucy is a character you almost don't want to like but there is something about her and the way the author has written her, you can't help but end up loving her and feeling for her and the decisions she has made in her life.
I really wanted her to make some better decisions and quit the lying, even though some of the situations were funny. I also thought her friends weren't all that nice towards her at times because of the whole thing with Blake.
Blake, what a horrible character he was, totally self obsessed, but it was good to read the interaction between the 2 of them and it was easy to tell why their relationship ended and was surprising that it lasted as long as it did.

I think what I found confusing with this story to begin with was the character of "Life - Cosmo". Confused the hell out of me to begin with but after reading a few reviews, I decided to do what was recommended and suspend my belief and go with the flow as such. Once I decided that I found it a lot easier to get on with the book, the story and all of the characters.

I ended up really enjoying this, a lot more than I expected and it was definately the best read from this author I have had since Where Rainbows End and I will definately be reading more from her in the future.

An interesting premise ....meeting your life!

God I love Cecelia Ahern

The Time of My Life is a touching, thought provoking story. A well written story, with romance and comedy, it manages to ask some important questions. The starting was a trying and it took a lot of patience to sit down and read. But once you make time to do that and read the first few chapters, you are hooked for the rest of the book. The book has some ...more

Makes you consider serious life changes and wonder how your own life would look and feel like. Afterwards you want to let all denials and lies behind.

I love Cecelia Ahern, but I did not love this book. I found it kind of boring. Lucy has been wallowing in misery for 2 plus years and finally her "life" contacts her and she eventually agrees to meet him. It gets worse from there as her "life" tries to get her back on track. I really didn't like Lucy all that much, but I did like her "life". Hopefully, Cecelia Ahern's next book is better.

Read a couple of her other books. This one was just...too weird for me. I couldn’t quite let myself to like the premise that one’s Life could be a character apart from the character. I’m not sure what it really did to enhance an otherwise plot about getting over one’s ex and moving on with one’s life. Nope didn’t get it.

Cecilia Ahern is just like Nicolas Sparks to me - I just seem to love everything they write. This book was amazing - an original storyline and well written as usual.
