I couldn’t get into this one - try as I might. I finished it but it was lacklustre

So this was an interesting one. I was really invested at some times and then frustrated and ready for it to just be over at others. Overall I ended up enjoying it but I did have some issues with some of the things the main character did/thought and also how the ended was resolved. I was happy in the end but felt like it was a little rushed..

This is one weird book, but I loved the concept.

This book was just not for me... lots of creepy and ick along with the fantasy. TW kidnap, violence, suicide.

I loved this book, but the end didn’t quite live up to the rest of it

I wanted to like this more than I did. The action just plodded along without the magic and true creep factor I was looking for. Check out my full review over at Forever Young Adult.

Wanted to DNF several times but I stayed for the mystery. It was the laziest, most disappointing ending to a book I’ve seen in YEARS. Terrible.
