This was incredible. Took me a bit to get into with the different storylines throughout but when I got used to switching between them it was brilliant.

The characters have my heart. Don’t want to spoil so I won’t say much but the bonds/relationships that grow in this book are so good. Redemption arcs for a couple of people as well.

SJM always makes the last chapters incredible, there was so much packed in to the last 50 odd pages in this which I was so shook about.

I cannot wait to read the next book because I need to know what happens next asap!

Five stars. I didn’t want to stop reading and I think for the entirety of this book had my jaw on the floor and my eyes wide with shock.
My heart broke with the ending. And can we also just acknowledge that those late arrivals, if they were just 10 minutes earlier it might have been bloody different.

I’m doing the tandem read for Empire of Storms and Tower of Dawn and can recommend highly!!!

I did the tandem read. I'm glad I did - I don't think the complete happiness and humour, or the utter devastation and sadness I've experienced over the last 1,400 pages would have been felt to the same extent if I had read them one after the other.

A couple of noteworthy quotes:

Dorian said smoothly, "You will find, Rolfe, that one does not deal with Celaena Sardothien. One survives her."

Aelin was insane, Dorian realised. Brilliant and wicked, but insane. And perhaps the greatest, most unremorseful liar he'd ever encountered.

This book is phenomenal. This series is phenomenal.

I can't even form words when it comes to describing how much I love Aelin and Rowan. Aelin Ashryver Galathynius Whitethorn (aka Fire-Breathing Bitch-Queen) is still a goddess. And her ever loving husband I suppose is okay too. I lie - I've been his #1 fan since the moment he punched Aelin in the face. And then felt every emotion when he cried "Where's my wife?"

I've come full circle with Lysandra, Manon, and Ansel. Women are amazing 👏 Can't wait to see their full badassness come into full effect in the last book.

I love when Aedion and Dorian (chuck Rowan and the rest of the cadre in there too) still continue to be so shocked when the women come up with a plan and for it to not only work, but work so well with their ignorance of said plans. I live for their mixed reactions of fury and awe in the aftermath

I almost wet myself with laughter when Lorcan realised the amulet was fake... which was then followed up by Elide verbally eviscerating him 👏

Before I commence reading the beginning of the end and all the pain that I'm sure will follow, I'll leave you with my favourite flirty moment between Aelin and Rowan

Rowan "What the hell are you thinking about?"

Aelin "The usual things... killing, crocheting, how to make you emit those noises again -"

I'll see you all on the other side of KOA 🫡
