Nooooo, not that cliffhanger! I hate that cliffhanger!!! Fuck, the art is so gorgeous, and this was the best volume yet, with so many of the plot strands coming together at long last!! I am incoherent, and really want to withhold a star out of spite for that cliffhanger.

In this volume, we learn a lot more about Zinn and his(?) kind, as well as some of the larger machinations that are guiding the world toward total war. I loved it.

I adored the first volume of Monstress but ever since then it’s gotten increasingly confusing and less enjoyable. The art is still gorgeous though.
