I prefered the first book to this one. This book was a lot weaker of a story, maybe because it feels like a hasty remake of the first book.

I don’t think me and ole’ Mitch would get along very well. We appear to have very different worldviews (something I perhaps wasn’t as aware of when I read ‘The Five People You Meet In Heaven’ as a young teen).

I found this book to be… nothing. Uninventive prose; boring. Truly asinine quotes about how to live, stuff that could’ve been written by a fairly non-creative high school student. There was no emotion, no feeling, and I couldn’t connect to the characters at all (despite some themes which should’ve sparked ~something~).

Just a lesson in “having a kind-of-good story doesn’t mean you can write it well”.

The Five People You Meet in Heaven is such a hard book to follow on from. It has been one of my favourites since I was a little girl (reading far beyond what is probably appropriate, Soz mum)
I think Mitch Albom has done a great job. Not quite as good as the original, and it feels like it speeds through the five people that Annie meets in heaven, but it absolutely tugged at the good ol’ heartstrings.
I would’ve loved some more detail of some things, but overall another engaging read, 4.5 stars.

This book wholly sums up that despite loneliness, depression, mistakes, and loss, make us whole. I sums up that God has the answers for everything and that His plan is so Devine and good because all that happens in our lives causes a ripple on what happens in the lives of others. We are all connected

This was a quick read and I enjoyed it. It definitely through me the way it ended and there were several times I teared up but it was definitely worth the read!
