What I liked:
- so many cute rattie moments!!!!!!!
- teen dragon adorableness
- slow build for the first part of the book
- moments with old characters

Not for me:
- the book was doing a great slow burn until it wasn’t. “I love you”s seemed to come out of nowhere.
- the age gap of 11 years old with an 18yo…
- this is just a preference thing but not into humiliation
- the fact that this is the last book :(

I really hoped that I would like the last book in the series as much or even more than I liked 'Prince and Betrothed'. Alas, it was not meant to be.

Kazia and Lucien were not unlikable characters, but my opinion of Lucien, who I did not find particularly memorable or amusing as a secondary character in the previous books, did not change all that much with him cast as a main character. My feelings towards him were a step above indifference. As for Kazia, he was much more intriguing as a secondary character than as a main one. Still, I found him more likable and sympathetic than Lucien. This was not surprising once it was revealed that Kazia
was a grail, but one that could share his magic with another mage only when feeling pain, a fact that both his father and mother abused since Kazia was 8 years old.

The romance between Lucien and Kazia felt underdeveloped, and the action scenes were poorly described. After six books in the series, the deaths of the two main villains seemed little more than an afterthought.

I'm relieved to be finished with the entire series, but unfortunately, I found myself wanting to like these books more than I actually did. While I enjoyed the overall story arc, most of the romances, as already mentioned, felt underdeveloped, lacking chemistry between the characters. Though I appreciated the story setting, I found the action and intrigue not intricate enough for a great fantasy plot. I did appreciate the fact that all the little mysteries from the previous books were answered before the series end.

Apart from 'Prince and Betrothed', Marek and Sei's book, which was the one that I liked the most, my favorite aspects of this world were all the fantastical animals, such as fellcats (some more enjoyable than others), blinkminks (despite being an obvious menace), dragons (somewhat underused in the series), and rats (adorable, despite not being fantastical if we ignore their possible
immortality aspect
).  Also, I keep forgetting to mention, I thought all the book covers and each of the princes looked pretty damn awesome.

(All the book reviews for this series will be written somewhat quick and dirty as I read through all the books in the span of six days. I've written my quick overall impression of each book as I finished them, but now after finishing the whole series I find myself lacking energy and brainpower to try to write more detailed reviews for each book.)

Short review without spoilers

I absolutely loved reading how the characters weren’t as they appeared to be and actually had so much hidden behind closed doors. The romance was also romancing, the way it progressed was so cute?? + The relationship between Kazia and his brothers is so adorable. This book feels like it focused more on the plot more than the romance, but it’s done in a prefect way.

Contains spoilers here and there

This book was one I was excited for the moment Kazia makes his first appearance, he was such an interesting character so my expectations for this book was very high.

I absolutely adore Kazia, a seemingly spoiled brat who happens to be the youngest and only biological son of the King&Queen. It didn’t come to anyone’s surprise that Kazia wasn’t just a spoiled brat that everyone thought he was. He’s so much more and I’m happy he finally found someone who wholeheartedly loves him, and was able to open up (in a way) to the rest of his family.

Lucien was also a character I was excited to read about, he appeared to be a very silly but responsible character in a way. Very charming with dreams of getting a dragon lmao.

I absolutely adored reading the romance and how it progresses, it was a bit quick in some ways but despite that I loved it. The way they seemed to dance around each other’s feeling was so addicting, the small little things leaving readers breathless was amazing. I loved reading how much they loved each other before the official romance even started. Especially since Lucien was able to read Kazia so quickly despite him seeing Kazia as the enemy and just a spoiled prince. How Lucien was able to notice Kazias true character. He was quick to catch that Kazia was actually hiding how smart he really was in situations and how he handled them + protected others while saying he wasn’t. It was also lovely reading how Kazia felt so much remorse in how he was controlling Lucien in the beginning.

Kazias relationship with his brothers was able to progress so much too, especially with how they were in the beginning. I’m glad they all had their happy ending
