Oof what a heartbreaker.

This was definitely an emotional one that challenged the reader at every turn. I was questioning so many things about what was happening and who was the bad guy.

Kazia's character arc was very good. I loved seeing how it played out from his first mention in the series to the very end. Lucien was an excellent foil to him. He had a lot of heart and a bit of humor that was a nice balance. Together they made for a very heartwarming couple.

The end as a whole was extremely satisfying. I binged this series straight through no don't regret a single second.

This was an amazing conclusion to the series! Also my favorite book in the series. I literally lol’d at some parts and squirmed at others.

I admit that I rushed book 5 just to get to this book faster because the little peeks we got of Kazia in other books had me very intrigued.
this book... was so-so. I reaaaaaaaaaally like the characters, especially Kazia duh. Lucien is cool, I liked him from previous books already and the fact the Whisper showed up so much again was the biggest bonus ever.
The age gap is never mentioned so everything is good over there.
It's just... the love. Kazia falling for Lucien? okay. But Lucien my boy... he forgot he was a war prisioner way too fast lol
He went from military commander and dragon rider to wannabe assassin in a matter of seconds. Also, instantly falling in love with the enemy prince that has throughtly humilliated because "you see him" is very ooc for any proper military nationalist like he claimed to be.
Whatever... I just made use of that little thing we all readers need at times like this "Suspension of disbelief" and voilà!
oh oh... the ending had me laughing... but not to hard because by then my disbelief had been suspended for hours and I was ready for anything.
This is more of a three star than 4. But I really really REALLY liked Kazia as a character. My sweet cinnamon roll carried the plot of three and a half books on his lavender shoulders. I love him to the moon and beyond

I generally like that Tavia Lark's fantasy romances are on the short side for fantasy (~300 pages) without super complicated world building. However, when it's the last book in a 6-book series, a few extra chapters are allowed. The first half of this was great - Kazia is still a chaos gremlin (I hate when authors get to that one crazy character's book and change their personality) and Lucian is an interesting foil. But then the last half is way too fast - for both the romance and the overarching plot. I feel like another 50 pages would have really helped, especially Lucian's relationship with the dragon, which ends up sort of sidelined.
