*Deep sigh*

Today I learned not to set my expectations too high. Not that this was a bad continuation to Cinder and all but I think it was more me hyping this up too much. I should have known.

I should have known that Scarlet wouldn't fit my high character standards. From the moment she's introduced she's just bland and cookie-cutter, but I can deal with flat characters. My biggest problem with Scarlet as a character was how arrogant she was. She constantly throws herself and others into danger without thought, and frankly, her behavior and overall personality annoyed me.

I should have known that her relationship with Wolf would be completely forced and Edward and Bella-esque.

I should have known that all of the characters would act like idiots and not actually thinks that *gasp* Cinder was Selene. Seriously, despite it being so obvious and the clues being right in front of their faces.

I should have known that Kai would be extremely frustrating and
Spoiler accept Levana's proposal even though it would make things worse.
You aren't helping my opinion of "all of the characters are idiots" yet.

I should have known that this book would frustrate me rather than live up to my expectations. Next time, I'll think negative thoughts and hope for the worst.

Also, one thing I'm confused about. Does everyone on Earth in this time period speak the same language? There seems to be no language barrier between anyone, regardless of where they live.

another super fun read! compared to the first book, i enjoyed the pacing and plot a lot more, though i thought cinder’s setting and world building was a lot more interesting. i started this excited for scarlet and wolf and ended up being a little obsessed with the cinder and thorne buddy cop subplot. i also did like the scarlet/wolf plot, though the romance could’ve had a little more time to simmer. super excited to read the next one!

I LOVED this one! The little red riding hood retelling was so interesting and loved the author’s spin on it! I wasn’t expecting this book to have multiple povs, but this was one of my favorite things! It really made the book a page turner and so interesting. I love these characters, and I can’t wait to continue on with the rest of the series! There is truly nothing like these books!
