This is my first experience with the author. It seemed like an interesting concept, and for a while the execution was pretty nice. I liked getting to know the three women and their various struggles. I liked the "girl time" they had together in that cabin. I knew the time traveling would be involved, but I'm afraid that's also where the book lost me.

What I found really interesting in the time travel was how the women behaving differently affected the men and others around them. Like how Kent expressed a wish Elise had been that outspoken from the start, and not being put on the pedestal of a hero. Or how Olivia saw how she'd been treating people and her perceptions had been skewed. I really enjoyed that because it showed that the problems weren't just with the men or the circumstances, but the women also played a role.

I also liked Elise's travel back to the past. I loved how she built up a relationship with Alejandro and his family, how she pushed herself into working with them and found her true passion. I like how she reasoned out that she wanted more than just sex in a relationship, but an actual bond, and her being friends first with Alejandro (even though the whole pretending they didn't speak each other's languages thing got annoying and stupid quickly) was so important. The problem was that it went on a little long. Or maybe because their backstories went on for so long that when it got to the time traveling, it felt like it was dragging.

This book might've worked fine as three separate, shorter novels. Or just taken one of these stories and have it be your book. I really liked Elise so having her be the focus would've been just fine with me. Kathy's story would've also worked just fine on its own.

Olivia was the one I had problems with. It seemed like she created a lot of the problems she was in. Not saying that I don't understand how you can get caught up in bad situations, but she never put any of the blame on herself. And when she was in the past, she was constantly dropping future references and getting angry at her future husband for things he hadn't even done yet. And she could get away with it because of some bullshit loophole of people not remembering those kinds of things. What's worse, she actively tried to change people's lives/futures into what SHE thought they should be. What gave her the right to prevent a couple from adopting a child? Or try to play matchmaker based on future knowledge?

I'm giving the book two stars because I did enjoy the parts where the ladies were hanging out having fun together, and Elise's story was interesting and sweet. But it did go on a little too long and by the end I was bored and pissed off at one of the characters. I'm not inclined to try this author again.

Beach read. Did not disappoint

Jude Deveraux has been my favorite romance writer for more than 20 years. This was a fun read, but not my favorite.

Delicious read! I could not put this down. The ending was very cheesy, but it didn’t distract from the rest of the story.

Jude Devereaux has been on of my favourite authors since I was 12 years old and she didn't disappoint in this new book! I've read the other Summerhouse novels and I was so excited when I heard about this one. This is a wonderful story about friendship between females and big life choices. What would you change if you could go back in time? It's a wonderful thought.

3 women, Elise, Olivia and Kathy wish they had made better choices. Will they have that opportunity?
