It's ChickLit/RomCom territory. It isn't a proper Romance. There is no manifestation of the growth of the Heroine at all, just words towards the end. The Hero did all his development before the book. This book plays like a perfect movie, but it's isn't a proper Romance.
It was good, and I enjoyed it. It was a tad long, but the story is there. I had a hard time with the Heroine and her lack of self-reflection. Also, the family leaves something to be desired. I do like that the Heroine was the one that needed to change, but that didn't happen.
Steam level - low.

This was the second book of Bridget’s that I’ve read and this one was also super cute! A little enemies to lovers with a redemption line and a man with an accent, yes please! The only thing missing was dual pov!
Throw in such an amazing family unit that is so willing to accept someone into the group was amazing! The development of Sloan and Joseph’s relationship was beautiful! The way that Joseph let Sloan in and poured his heart out to her was intense! I enjoyed the characters mirrored the actors.
There is just the right amount of comedy, anger, sadness, spice, and happiness to make it just an overall well rounded romcom! Also you have to read or listen to her other book A Thousand Miles, it La one of my favorites!

This book was way too slow for me. I'm not sure if it was the actual book or the audiobook narrator but I just couldn't get into this one at all.
I really liked this. There are a couple beats that don't quite make emotional sense to me, but I think they stand out more because the rest of the book feels so authentic and layered. I'm still thinking about the family dynamics in this, and lingering thoughts about a light romance doesn't happen to me very often.
This book was delightful. It was a terrific romance but also a wonderful story of family, pitfalls of fame and discovering your true self. I loved it!

I found this to be a very frustrating book to read. The main character cannot make up her mind about whether she's a straight-talking bold woman who isn't afraid to be herself, or if she's actually a super vulnerable and shy person who is afraid of telling her true feelings. The male protagonist is barely developed and the romance doesn't seem earned or even particularly real. The family dynamics feel authentic, but there are bizarre secondary characters that are introduced and not used and side scenes that don't really have a point, even for exposition. It does do an amazing job of describing the behind-the-scenes business of Hollywood and movie making, and the scenes where the two main characters are on set are easily the best parts of the novel.
