“We are not the ones who are written into history. We are the ones who ensure history exists to be written.”
Having POTS/dysautonomia myself, I was so excited to read about a character with it. The fact that it wasn't a known condition at the time the book takes place actually made the book more interesting to me, as I knew nothing could be explained away as "oh, that's just your POTS" as it often is in (my) life.
I really loved the characters and the overarching plot, however, I found the story itself to be a bit slow for me. I also wish there had been more time getting to know Tania De Batz's father and their relationship, as it was clearly so important in making her who she is.

Great premise but very slow, strange pacing.
The narrator kept circling back to repetitive thoughts.
Wanted to see some missions / action but by 50% they hadn't even begun to investigate the murder.

Loved every minute
This story is a dramatic action filled masterpiece. The main character, Tania, is the embodiment of stepping into your own power. Readers will be inspired by her and her friends.

I’d like to start off by saying unlike other readers, I enjoyed the first few pages where the fmmc laments about her disability— and before I lose you I’ll start off by saying this comes from a place of understanding. Living with a debilitating condition can be difficult, I can’t begin to understand how it’s like to have one from childhood, but I understand the YEARS of processing needed before you finally reach acceptance. That being said, this is a singular story, it is impossible for everyone to have their experiences told through this character (this is a note for other readers!!). I enjoyed reading about the fmmc’s work-a-rounds and the accommodations that were made to help her navigate her training better, in addition to how the author tackled POTS representation all together. As for the plot, while it can be predictable at times it never disappointed. I loved how the character had to navigate complex familial relationships and gradually gained confidence in her abilities throughout the novel . I only picked this up because Barbie and the Three Musketeers is one of my favorite Barbie films, but this book is amazing and exceeded all of my expectations. I might re-read it soon.
I love this book for the disabled rep and subtle queerness but it has some bloody parts!
this was such a fun read! i loved reading about tania’s journey with the musketeers and the friendship they all created. that was definitely my favourite part! the representation was amazing because i’ve never read a book where a character has POTS so it was refreshing to see!
one thing that i didn’t really enjoy about this book was the romance aspect. i thought this book would have been a lot better without the relationship because it went too fast and i didn’t really understand their feelings for each other. we didn’t get to see a lot of their conversations and i didn’t even know when they started liking each other. overall, this was a great read and i really enjoyed it!

I loved The Three Musketeers when I was a teen. How lucky teens are today to have a story about a swashbuckling young woman. Tania de Batz has a chronic illness that makes everyone doubt her strength, but at a special school, she turns her vulnerabilities into strength and works to avenge her father's death.

I appreciate the POTS representation for sure! However, the first 20% of this book is a bit difficult to get through without frustration, due to there being a lot of despair in the mind of the narrator. It’s a whole lot of poor-disabled-me wall to wall that whole first fifth; everyone has to go on their own journey, but that was hard to read pre-plot hook.
I really loved the disability visibility of this book, as well as the found family aspect. The romance didn’t have a huge impact. I loved the spy stuff though!
