My best friend lives with POTS so to read a book with a MC who also lives with POTS is surreal and not something I'd ever expect to read.

Writing: good enough? don't get too distracted by bad writing or weird moments. That being said there were a lot of moments where I was like "wait what's happening and who's here now?" There is French italicized throughout, but either immediately translated or we are given enough context clues. It is weird that the English and French is alternated, but I was able to get past it. Others might get hung up on the weirdness of them speaking in English and translating French when they're all French lol.

Plot: Even though I kind of expected some of it, I'm glad it ended the way it did because I feel it helps the final development of Tania's character. It is slightly predictable and therefore wasn't too exciting but I wasn't reading for the actual plot - rather more intrigued with Tania's journey.

Thoughts: A YA book with a little bit of queer representation, disability representation, and a book based on female empowerment? I'd recommend to all of my students. There is a bit of romance as well but I didn't mind it BC it didnt go too far. It's not an amazing stand out novel in the sense of a spine-tingling page turner. However, I believe that any younger girls or womxn who live with chronic illness would definitely appreciate this telling.

I absolutely adored this book! I can't believe it took me so long to read it. For starters, I loved the main character. Tania is amazing. From the very beginning, she knows what she wants, despite people trying to tell her otherwise. Yet she still has a lot to go through. She has been put down so frequently in her life, she has to learn to accept herself and her body, and become more confident. I was very impressed by how her disability was written. She learns to manage it, but it doesn't magically go away, which felt real and accurate. Overall, Tania's character development was absolutely amazing. Also, I loved all her relationships with others. Her love of her father was so wholesome, but I also liked her more complicated relationship with her mother. And of course, the other musketeers. They were each so unique, and the found family vibes were immaculate. There was great balance between softer moments and action that allowed great development of personal relationships between the girls, but still shows off all the skills they have been learning in their training. I was a sucker for all the ball scenes. I found it so fun how each girl manipulated people, and of course I loved the decadent setting of 1700s Paris. I especially enjoyed learning how to hide weapons under fancy dresses. As for the plot, it was a bit on the slow side but not in a bad way. Most of the plot was more covert operations, with the balls and light sneaking around. However, there were still some very fun fencing scenes and action. And while I saw the final twist coming, I still loved watching it unravel, and I loved watching Tania handle it. It really shown a spotlight on her growth and how far she had come since the beginning of the book. Overall, I found this to be an amazing book and I highly recommend it.

this was such an amazing read! one for all is a genderbent three musketeers retelling, featuring a fmc with POTS. Tania’s story resonated with me so much as someone who also has a chronic illness, and the author did a great job portraying the realities of living with one, both the good and the bad. full of badass female characters, duels, sapphics, and amazing own-voices disability rep, one for all has definitely become one of my favorite reads of the year.

I loved this SO MUCH and my love only grew as the book progressed. It was incredibly moving to have a heroine with one of the same disorders as me (I'd guess by the description anyway) and I loved the adventure and the girl code. I cried at the end. Right now I'd consider getting a tattoo πŸ₯°πŸ˜πŸ™πŸ»πŸŽ―πŸ’—
