This was a great story to read with both of my kiddos. At 8 and 12 years old, they really enjoy anything animal related, but this one sparked a conversation that I loved. We took turns reading the book allowed to our furry family members and while the felines decided to mosey about, our dog listened intently. The author has such a nice way of incorporating helpful information combined with rhyming and beautiful illustrations together to provide safe (and fun!) tips to play with your pets. This is a must read for the younger ones in your life, and you’ll appreciate that it will entertain you as well!

Paws and Playtime is a wonderful, well illustrated children’s book that offered many tips, tricks, and helpful information to help kiddos understand how to have healthy, fun, successful relationships with their pets. The author included lots of helpful tips for parents in the back of the book as well. I read this book on my phone with the kindle app and also on my kindle oasis and I can attest that it was so much better to see these pictures in full color rather than the black and white of my oasis.

Porter and Midge are two dogs who have loving owners, CJ and Lora and in this book, their humans are learning all about play and enrichment so that they can make Porter and Midge's lives fun filled and joyful, but how will they be able to do it?

This book goes through all of the different ways that CJ and Lora can play safely and happily with their furry friends, from hunting for treats, walks which are full of new sights, smells and friends all the way to doggy sports and being tactile.

This is a must read for all families who are either thinking of owning a dog, or already have one so that they can teach children how to play safely and join in the excitement which Porter and Midge experience in their own journeys to perfect playtimes.

My girls and I really enjoyed this book! The rhyme of the words makes it almost hypnotic for my toddlers and they loved learning how they can play with puppies safely and how the puppies can have more fun. It's a really good read for adults as well, who are wanting to get their dogs thriving and trying new things.

Another wonderful book in this series and I love that it helps children to learn how to be respectful to dogs and helping to keep themselves safe as well. The story is well written and accompanied by beautiful illustrations. I read these books with my little boy who loves them for their rhyming content. I think that they are lovely engaging stories and the characters CJ and Lora and their lovely dogs Porter and Midge are really loveable. I really enjoy these stories and think they are a great addition to any child’s bookshelf!

I am loving this series of books that Nevada and Chen are putting out for children, doggos, and owners alike! The concepts are easy to grasp, inclusive, and so well explained. The illustrations are absolutely phenomenal. I really just cannot get over how beneficial this book is not only for the dogs, but also the owners and their children. It is so educational and age-appropriate. This is definitely a must read and should be on your list of gifts to give new dog owners (especially if they have children). I cannot wait to see what these authors do next.

Porter and Midge: Paws and Playtime: A Kid’s Guide to a Happy Dog (Porter and Midge Children’s Book Series) by Jennie Chen and Giselle Nevada. This is such a sweet heartwarming story about children and their dogs. These books are so educational and fun. My 5 year old nephew loved it and giggled throughout. Porter and Midge are CJ and Lora's dogs. CJ and Lora take Porter and Midge around town learning new things and seeing new things. The story is done in rhymes and has a sing song feel to it that my nephew loved. Be sure and add this cute story to your young one's library. It will a great addition.

Porter and Midge, along with their dogs, are on an adventure to learn more about stimulating activities that dogs enjoy. They also discover some lower stimulating playtime activities as well. Their friend Cheryl invites them to the "doggy P.E. class" (my words) to play different sports with the dogs there.

The illustrations in this book almost look like they are going to come off the page! They are very well done and are in vibrant colors.

This is a must-have for animal loving families and can be used as a teaching tool with youngsters learning about animal care.

This is a fun story with tips and ideas of entertaining ways to have fun with your dog. There are ideas of places to go to meet other dog owners. There are ideas of how to help your dog enjoy these activities. The illustrations are bright and colorful. The whole story is done in a rhyming rhythm which makes it quite fun to read. At the end of the book there is a not to parents which gives ideas on how to help your children with animals. This is a really neat book to add to a home library or any library.
