I won’t lie to you, when I decided to pick up Twilight by Stephanie Meyer, I wasn’t expecting to love it, if I’m being honest I came in with really low expectations. I’d say this is mostly due to the negative reviews I’ve seen and heard in the past about the book and about the film adaptation. The book however was a very nice surprise, of course it’s clearly aimed towards a younger audience than myself, but that doesn’t mean that I can’t enjoy it as an adult!
I found that Stephanie’s character development was pretty good and consistent throughout the book, especially Bella, she was very stuck in her ways and wouldn’t listen to Edward at all about how dangerous her life was with him in it. This book also shows that love can make us do stupid things to protect people. All in all, I throughly enjoyed it and I can’t wait to pick up New Moon.

I never read these when they first came out in middle school but I remember a lot of girls in my school read them and loved them. I didn't know much about them except for team Edward/Jacob and the clips of the movie that I saw float around the internet. Let me tell you, was it cringey? Yes. Was it entertaining? Also yes 😂 I'm not even ashamed to say I sort of enjoyed it. For all the hate the series gets, it wasn't too bad.
I don't think adolescent me would've liked this but adult me did. I would categorize this as a junk food book and I need to get my friends together to watch the movies 😂 I will read the next book and feed my inner child.

I’m going to sum up my experience reading twilight with a sentence I wrote while annotating: wait why am I so invested, this wasn’t supposed to happen?!
It was pretty slow going most of the book, but the end was pretty wild and I really liked reading about the Cullen family. Overall I am shocked and surprised that I actually kinda enjoyed this??
