The entire series is amazing, from deep, well done world building to well-rounded characters with backstories to plot twists I never saw coming. Female characters weren't relegated to the sidelines or purely sidekicks. There was joy, there was heartbreak, there was uncomfortable amounts of gore in a comic that, from the outside, looks like it could come from the more PG-rated Marvel comics.

In my opinion, this final set of issues did the entire 15 year run justice. It tied up a lot of loose ends, even stuff I wouldn't have thought needed to be resolved. I'm not usually completely satisfied with endings, but I am with this one.

What we get here is a full and complete ending and I'm all for it. I'm pleased that this series went the distance and pulled off a satisfying conclusion for characters I have loved and followed for years.

A very nice touching final issue, and the volume as a whole I really liked. I think Rex ruling Earth was dealt with a bit too fast, the whole thing seemed over in one fell swoop. The final issue with how the kids are going about their lives was amazing. I don't think Eve should have survived, because it would have been a big character moment for Mark, because this is something his dad always warned him about (short earth lifespans).

I disagree pretty strongly with the ending's message; big empires are okay as long as there's a guy on top whose head is in the right place. It makes sense in the context of the work but that's because they deal with apocalyptic threats every other week. The ending could have been constructed in a way where that wasn't the final point. So a slight sour taste at the end of what is a fantastic series.

Wow! Kirkman has done an amazing job crafting a complete hero's journey in this limited series. This ending does such a great job of wrapping up what has been a hell of a roller coaster ride. I don't want to spoil anything; suffice it to say, I found this a very satisfying closing to the series.

I highly recommend Kirkman's work in general, and this series in particular!
