I couldn't connect with the characters, and it was too confusing between the families at first.
Good story but could've been better.

A postavy?

This tale is beautifully written, featuring multiple timelines that cleverly weave together without leaving the reader confused, and the ultimate resolution is highly satisfying. Pulley is excellent at playing with the ambiguity of the supernatural and second-guessing the safety of 'home.' The Shirley Jackson inspiration was clear, and the homage beautifully executed. I'm delighted with this story.

I was going to give this 5 stars until about 60% through and a major twist happened, one I, personally, found disappointing. The ending was pleasant enough to save it from being a 3 star rating but not enough to capture the atmosphere and horror of the rest of the book. Overall a brilliant and enjoyable experience, even with the twist I still had a great time reading it! The plot and feelings it gave me will surely stay with me.
