After reading a bit about Jacob all through the other books, I was really intrigued about his story. The previous books hint that Jacob become involved with a professor and she suddenly disappeared. Twisted Obsession requires you to read a quick short story to get up to speed on where this book takes place. I highly recommend reading that before picking up the full book! Twisted Obsession follows Jacob and Melody. Jacob is currently playing in the NHL in Denver and he’s always wondered what happened to the professor when she vanished after spending the day together back in college. He’s worked to move on, but no woman compares to Melody. During one of his playoff games, he looks up into the stands and sitting there with another man is Melody herself. Jacob can’t believe that she’s in front of him and has the nerve to be with another man. When he confronts her, it gets more odd with Melody confessing that she has no memory of Jacob and is suffering from retrograde amnesia so she doesn’t remember anything. Now that Melody is back in the same city as Jacob, he vows that she’ll never escape him again. This book was really intriguing and I wasn’t sure where it was going to go when trying to figure out who attacked Melody to have her suffer from amnesia. I really enjoyed get to know Jacob’s character and seeing another side to him other than him just cleaning up the boys’s mess every book. Him and Melody turned out to be the perfect match!

“Fell in love between lines of her lectures.
It's only right that we repeat ourselves, like history, until we
fall again.
Well. Until she falls again.
I'm already there.”
3.5 stars. Probably my favorite of the series. I didn't read the prequel. I enjoyed it quite a bit. I won't reread but will recommend it for dark romance readers. Love the MMC POV.

Ok seriously I don’t want this series to ever end. All of these books have been so freaking good! I could not wait for Jacob and Melody's book and of course it did not disappoint. Not gonna lie I was scared going in after learning there’s amnesia in the book. But S. Massery wrote it amazingly and I was at the edge of my seat trying to figure everything out.
You must read the prequel before diving into this to get a good understanding of not just their dynamic but what led up to the first chapter. I mean obviously we don’t have all the answers but you won’t be confused. Plus the prequel was amazing
