I read the reviews before reading this thinking I wasn’t going to be into it. I’ve read all of VA and Bloodlines and always thought Mead’s writing and plot was lacking, and so I assumed this one would be even worse based on what people thought. I guess it just goes to show you how different people’s opinions are! I loved this book so much more than her other series. I thought the characters were actually more likeable, and the story was way more interesting and unique. I also appreciated all the spice, but I’m a fan of that to begin with. The reason it wasn’t 5 stars is because the Tim character was annoying and potentially racist??? So confused by him and why she wrote him in that way… And I wish there was a little more character development- but I’m hoping to see that in the next installment.
