I'm really fascinated by Blitz-era London and very much enjoyed this. It starts off light but the war is always there in the background and becomes more of a presence as the story goes on. The story is a little predictable but I was rooting for Emmy throughout. It was a charming and emotional read and reminded me of The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society.
