this book was very fun and endearing. the conclusion is rather satisfying and fitting for the characters. I wish we could continue in this universe and follow our characters but all good things must come to an end. my only gripe is that the stakes in this book didn't seem as high as the last.

Seven years after the Red Thread of Fate appeared, Seokga is tired. After traveling to every continent in search of Hani, the lonely god has finally reached a breaking point. At the request of his therapist, Seokga, aling with his therapist and his brother, the Heavenly Emperor, board a cruiseship in the underworld in hopes of a relaxing week away.

Once on board, Seokga finds the Thread of Fate alerting him of his lost love. Desperate to find her, he searches the cruise until he meets Yoo Kisa, Hani's reincarnated. Although Seokga knew not to expect Hani, or even for her to have retained her memories, he is more shocked to find Kisa is a gwisin (ghost) who lost her life in a tragic incident years prior.

While Seokga and Kisa try to figure out their threaded fate, tragedy strikes the cruise liner, leading Seokga and Kisa to unravel the mysteries around them.

I loved coming back to Seokga and Kisa's(Hani) world. I missed the grumpy god and the smart and witty woman who knows who to steal his heart. The banter was bantering, and the love was sweet and kind. The duology wraps up beautifully, and I love knowing Kisa and Seokga are finally at peace and happy.

Thank you to Del Ray and NetGalley for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review!

This book is a slow burn fantasy that blends Korean folklore, murder mystery, and an emotional love story all set on a supernatural cruise ship. Seokga finally finds the love of his life, but there’s a catch… she’s dead. And just as they reunite, his brother is murdered, forcing them to solve the mystery while caring for a very unexpected reincarnation.

This book delivers everything, rich mythology, unexpected twists, and a romance so full of tension it hurts. The world building is chef’s kiss, the mystery keeps you guessing, and the slow burn? WORTH IT.

If you love fantasy with depth, high stakes, and emotions that hit hard, you need this on your TBR!

Simply enjoyable

But, and please note, that I’ve rated this 5 stars. There are at least two typos in this book. Or I’m misunderstanding what sentences were saying. Who knows! Not me

I really loved this book! The story was well paced, full of drama and characters to die for.

I love a good murder mystery. This was a fun one too. I loved all the twists and turns. Sure it can feel predictable but the journey was great.

The characters are the heart and soul of this story. Seokga is still Seokga but he has also grown. Watching him fall in love with Kisa was beautiful and satisfying. Kisa is also a great. Very different from Hani but I too fell in love with her. Their relationship was so natural and satisfying!

The side characters also were great. We see a familiar face as well as a new one that steals your heart. Love them so much!

The mental health rep also was excellent. Sophie handles some great deep issues like losing a friend or lover, the pressure of being an Idol, and letting yourself love another with grace and care. I love it!

All in all I loved this book! Highly recommend!
