Darius the Great Deserves Better by Adib Khorram

Super cute! The plot in this book had a lot more going on than in the previous book. I'm not sure that that abundance necessarily served the narrative, especially since the first book was so straightforward: kid goes to his family's homeland, grows closer to them, and makes a new friend. Even so, I enjoyed getting to spend more time with these characters.

I preferred the first book with Darius exploring Iran and his Iranian heritage. This sequel lagged for me with a lot of tea and tea tasting.

Read for Whateverathon 2022 for host fave (first book in the series), continue a series, and borrow a book.
