I will round this one up to four stars (from what should really be 3.5) mainly because this is the creepiest book I’ve read in a while and a bizarre thriller. It was fun and kept me guessing. The main character Vera returns to her childhood home when her mother is very I’ll and seemingly about to die. Vera revisits her childhood during the course of the novel while experiencing strange happenings in her childhood home and around the caretaker, her mother and her ex-best friend. The mix flashbacks and along with present events tapping into the paranormal make this an intriguing thriller that reck the nerves, disturb the mind, and keep you guessing. Warning: this may not be one that you want to read right before you fall asleep. The audio is done decently well but I think I would prefer reading in print on my own. Still worth the listen!
