I listened to the audio while following along in ebook ...

I truly wanted to love this, but I did not.

The first couple of parts drew me in and had me hooked with horrifying descriptions in certain scenes. However, midway it lost me.

I did not like either of the characters because no one talked about the elephant in the room in an "understanding" manner or state.

The ending also just seemed odd for a book I was under the impression was going to be horrifyingly gross 🤷🏽‍♀️

Still recommend if you are looking for a short read this "spooky" season.

I was so into the first half of this book I thought it would an easy 4 stars but after the halfway mark the plot started to feel very slow and at times confusing. I had such high hopes but unfortunately the story just ended up being too lack luster for me.

The voice of Erin was unique and I enjoyed reading the story from her perspective. A harrowing story about addiction, but not just to drugs -- to toxic people too. I related to Erin's addiction to Silas and how tough it is to let go or tear yourself away. The main issue I had was the finale. It was hard to tell what was happening at the end in the house. Overall I did really enjoy this book, but I did struggle with understanding parts of it at times.

I find the characters to be really annoying.

don’t do drugs kids. Especially if your friend has cult-leader potential.

Great spooky season vibes. Creeped me the eff out at times. Just jump in spoiler free- unless you need tws, then do your research first.

Really wish more people would read this author! He’s on my list of “will read the newest book” whenever that happens.
