The story is obvious, I mean the hints are dropped like heavy bricks and way too often, but this is not an issue here (surprisingly). What normally would be a big no-no, now seems to be more like a minor issue. It's probably because somehow this story, however naive at times, is engaging and fast-paced. It´s impossible not to cheer for Drew, the main character. This novel, despite its dark theme, is fun to read.
P.S. Why does Dew have to have two dads? Do we need to put this into every, EVERY! novel?

Omg! This book!
Okay so to start I have a few reasons why I gave it 5☆ I mean obviously.

I LOVED the storyline. I never thought a book could be thriller, because when I think of thriller I think of jump scare scenes. And that is impossible to do in a book. But this book is definitely a thriller. Whilst reading this I realized, that a thriller is something that is scary in the sense of you have know idea what is going to happen. And it HAS to have you on the edge of your seat. Otherwise it is not a thriller.
The plot of this is soooo good. I absolutely loved it, because I constantly felt like "wow this could happen irl" and I know I know, other books can also happen. But I felt the fear of waking up and not knowing anything. That is super scary.

Then another thing that I loved were the characters. I felt that they were very relatable. And especially with Mary, because you are in the sense of reading this book. You are like Mary and you know nothing about yourself (Mary) in the book. Also the characters are amazing I LOVED Mary obviously.
I loved her thoughts (not to soond creepy or anything) and her comments. And I really felt for her.
The Drew. He is so sweet and I feel bad for him. And everything he's been through.
Amber was also amazing and Drew was so lucky to have her.
Max was well Max, he was the one who would try to diffuse the tension.
And I also really liked officer Bowman he was super sweet as well.
And I liked Drew's relationship with his dad I thought that was very cute and you could tell how much they loved him.

My only negative comment is that I wish I could have had a Mary pov at the end, just so I could know what she was feeling.
And I wish I read this in one go. Because at times I felt slightly disconnected from the story.

So bottom line: this is an amazing book, which you should definitely read. It has become my favourite. And I would highly suggest that you read it in one sitting.
