I am surprisingly endeared to this book, especially to Nick, who I could identify with and understand that falling for your supposedly-straight best friend can have dire consequences if feelings are not clear or reciprocated.

I do enjoy slow-burns when done right. There's a fine line between agonizingly slow and deliberately-measured pacing. One would bore you to tears, frustrate even, and the other allows you to dwell in the wealth of emotions in the book.

Nick is almost-perfect as the pining and supportive non-BF but his relationship with Brady cannot be accomplished without the support of their friends and family.

The story is sweet and funny, certainly not expected from a Beer League romance.
