I really enjoyed this book. I liked the fact that it was not a total "love story" but rather had some mystery in it. It was a very easy and quick read. I am defiantly going to Big Bone to see what Heather is up to next!!!!

I had the audiobook borrowed since July 2022 so I figure that now is a good time to finally crack it open and return to the series.

God I love how I didn’t need to remember the first book to get into this one. I appreciate it cause I read the first book so long ago.

This is such a light read. I love Heather and all the hijinks in this story. I'll definitely be continuing this series.

This book was a fun and frivolous mystery read. I thought it was a lot of fun-- and also brought back some fond memories of being an Asst. Hall Director!

SIZE 14 continues right where SIZE 12 left off; Heather Wells is still the assistant director of NY college's Fisher Hall residence building, making basically nothing, and living rent free with her ex-fiancé's super hot PI brother. Following the events in the first book, her workplace is now been bestowed the not so enticing name of 'Death Dorm' and it continues to live up to this moniker. While Heather promises everyone she won't get involved, knowing her character and this kind of book, she does anyway. Ensuing hijinks that end in some really weird and genuinely dangerous events unfold in this sequel which while predictable and not the best written, I still enjoyed myself for the most part.

A lot of my issues with the first book carried over: she CONSTANTLY harps about her weight (which genuinely isn't large as a legitimately plus sized person), the washed up pop star angle adds basically nothing to her character or the plot, it's littered with dated references that age poorly, and the murder mystery isn't the most compelling for a theoretical thriller. That being said, since I already know what I was getting myself into, I found myself able to go along for the ride, ignore a lot of the dumb aspects, and enjoy it a bit more than the first. It's definite fluff, not the best thriller with a kind of grating protagonist, but it still had a couple fun moments and some nice twists except for the 'big reveal' scene. It was super foreshadowed, but the big 'reveal' scene felt like something out of a poorly acted soap.

Stand outs to me were the scenes with Gavin and Reggie. Gavin's little crush and persistence was absolutely precious, not to mention he was a fun character for her to bounce off of. The Reggie bit was one of the few things I didn't really see coming, in a fun way. I'm really annoyed that while she finally said how she feels about her big crush, his resolve of not wanting to be her 'rebound guy' is supremely annoying since I know they're going to be endgame, but this is a series so naturally it'd be far too easy for them to get together now I suppose. This didn't read as much of a set up for later books like the first did, but I know there's two more so there was still basically zero growth had and she's kind of left right where she started with a slight 'to be continued' with her tutor. I'm not sure if I'm compelled enough to continue on, I only read because I owned the first two, but they're easy, quick reads and the other two audiobooks are on Libby, so maybe if I get my TBR pile smaller, we'll see.

Heather Wells does it again! I just love who she is and this book, although not considered "great literature" is "great reading". It's fun and fluffy and makes me smile. I genuinely care about the characters!

Meg Cabot has a way with words and her stories have me laughing out loud, crying, shouting at the characters, and just genuinely caring what happens to them. It's a sad day for me when one of her series ends.
