DID NOT FINISH: 69%

DNF'd at 69%

This book was so annoying to get through for so many reasons.

-Annoying, unlikeable characters
-Every character seems to make dumb, terrible decisions
-Takes forever to get to the point, they constantly hint at things with no payoff for what feels like an eternity
-There are like a million chapters it feels like, and they're all short; I don't like short chapters and the already slow pacing doesn't help

Overall, I just couldn't force myself to finish it when I had more than 30% left still.

Hank Phillipi Ryan can do no wrong. This book is another hit out of the park! I was flipping pages as fast as I could to see what would be happening next. The alternating chapters between Lily, Greer and Cassie were written so well that I was not confused with the alternating pov’s as I usually can get. I had an inkling about who shouldn’t be trusted and who could be, though I definitely did not see that exact ending coming to light.

Thank you to Forge books and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this in exchange for my honest opinion.

Her Perfect Life by Hank Phillippi Ryan
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Reporters rely on tips and anonymous sources. Lily Atwood is no exception and has a source that is feeding her award winning tips. But that source has crossed a line that involves a story on her life.
What a spectacular mystery thriller that kept me guessing at every turn of the page. The short chapters and multiple POVs keeps the story moving at a fast pace and always leaves you wanting more.

Television reporter Lily Atwood has it all - a beautiful house, an adorable young daughter, a loving puppy, a few Emmys - the perfect life. But underneath it all, Lily has always wondered what happened to her older sister Cassie, who disappeared during her freshman year of college when Lily was 11. Suddenly, a confidential source threatens to upend Lily's perfect life - how far is Lily willing to go to keep her past from becoming public?

I adore Hank Phillippi Ryan and was so excited for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of this book. I was not disappointed. I couldn't put it down and was dying to know the truth about Cassie. I really enjoyed the character of Greer and would love for Ryan to feature her again in another book :) All in all, this was yet another fun thriller from Hank Phillippi Ryan and I'm excited to see what she does next!

Thanks to NetGalley and publisher Macmillian-Tor/Forge for the opportunity to read and review this book :)

I really struggled with this book. I didn't connect with any of the characters & found myself getting annoyed with them. While the twist at the end was great & not something that I expected, it was not enough to save the book for me. I've read The First to Lie & enjoyed it, and I look forward to reading Hank's other books, but this one was just not for me.

Thanks to Macmillan-Tor/Forge & NetGalley for the DRC in exchange for an honest review.

I love books by Hank Phillippi Ryan. I discovered her a few year ago and now eagerly await each new book. This book was no different. It focuses on Lily, a perfect single mother and journalist. She has two main secrets in her past that could derail her perfect life.

Each chapter is told from a different POV and I love that in books. I love the way the writing draws you in and I can picture the scenes in my head and the little details that appear to be completely separate come together at the end.

Her Perfect Life is a quick moving story with a lot of twists and turns. Unfortunately - it was a little too convoluted and far fetched for me. There were too many moments when I thought characters were making choices I just couldn’t get behind. This wasn’t a hit for me. Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the free ebook to review.

I got this book from #NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. Her Perfect Life has some good twists and turns. It’s a page-turner, and the plot, while a little over-the-top, is unpredictable.

er Perfect Life was such an addictive read with short chapters and changes in POV and timeline.

The characters were well developed and I never would have guessed where it was going in the end!

Another great book by Hank Phillipi Ryan!
