DID NOT FINISH: 59%

⭐️⭐️ (DNF at 59%)

Fascinating at first, but it quickly slid into tedious repetition. The colour-coded personality framework had potential, but after a while it felt like reading the same point rephrased again and again. I tapped out at 59%.

Not for me—but I can see how others might still find value in it if they enjoy simplified personality theories and don’t mind a fair bit of repetition. 🤷🏽‍♀️

"Surrounded by Idiots" is a fantastic read that really dives into what makes people tick. As someone who loves psychology, I found the insights in this book to be incredibly valuable. The tips offered have had a huge impact on my relationships. Now, I can present my ideas in a way that everyone—from different personality types—can understand.

This book is packed with wisdom about communication. If you're willing to reflect on your own color (the good and the bad) and learn about the other colors, you'll discover ways to connect with people that you might not have thought possible.

It’s not just about work; the concepts are super helpful in family situations too. If you’ve ever struggled to get along with someone, recognizing that their behavior could be due to a different personality type can really change your perspective. Suddenly, things that seemed confusing start to make sense!

For me, this book has truly been a game changer. It’s filled in the gaps in my understanding of relationships and has improved how I connect with others. If you want to have better interactions, feel understood, or just learn how to get someone to see your viewpoint, I can’t recommend it enough.

I’m really looking forward to reading more from this author! My only small issue is that it could have included a quiz to help identify your color or a section on dual colors (like red/yellow or green/blue). I see myself as a yellow with a lot of blue, and I would have loved to explore how those traits can work together. Overall, it’s a great read!

The man who wrote this book is convinced he's cracked the code to "dealing with" all the types of people he is so clearly an expert in identifying. He treats them like idiots. It's such a joke of a book. DNF.
