Although there were some confusing and some eye-rollingly cheesy parts, I really enjoyed Aurora Burning. The mystery was well developed and the action sequences were really intense — our squad could not catch a break. The final chapters had a lot going on and, of course, was a cliffhanger. Fortunately, I've got [b:Aurora's End|40516976|Aurora's End (The Aurora Cycle, #3)|Amie Kaufman|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1616792223l/40516976._SY75_.jpg|62875712]

I just finished this book minutes ago so this is fresh. This book will play with your feelings so hard!!! I know how Amie and Jay do, and they just keep surprising. This is a rollercoaster unlike I have never read before. The wait for the next book will be difficult but worth it.

The ending of this one is a perfect example of why I now wait for the full series to be out before I start reading. #cliffhanger

Gah! So good! Even better than the first book! Space adventure, romance, humor, mystery, heartache, and great characters that you really care about. But, fair warning, make sure you have the third book of the series when you finish this so you can jump right in, because it ends on a major cliff hanger!

ACTUAL RATING 4.5

I'll keep this short because it makes me so damned upset that I don't want to get all shouty on a soapbox. Everyone is here again (except for the latest lover of succulents IYKYK), battling it out to save the damn universe. There's new peeps, old peeps who we meet for the first time and some peeps who I can't actually remember their purpose but I know they were *something*.

There was a TON of content packed into the pages, so much so that I feel like it kind of needed to be split into 2 books and expanded upon. BUT we all know publishing only pays the monies for a certain number of instalments so if it had been, we would have ended the series with that final chapter of WHAT THE ACTUAL F#$% is happening.

Called some things early on *cough* Daddykins *cough* but also others that I didn't. Also can someone tell me why the hell everyone has utilised their thing but Fin still running around with a seemingly pointless ballpoint pen please? Basically it was the usual Kaufman/Kristoff genius but also something was off and I cant quite pinpoint where this book went wrong.

I'm so sad that this succumbed to Second Book Syndrome :'(. I mean it is still a great book but something happened in there that made me want to put it down and that NEVER happens to me with a Kristoff or Kaufman book. I will however say that I am very glad I decided to postpone reading it until AE came out because despite its flaws, I need to know why everyone is devastated right now.

This one was SO much better than the first

3.5 Stars. I adored [b:Aurora Rising|30075662|Aurora Rising (The Aurora Cycle, #1)|Amie Kaufman|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1560056657l/30075662._SY75_.jpg|50493990], but this one lost a little bit of its magic. I thought there was way too much action and not enough of my lovable, snarky characters. Don't get me wrong, it was still a great book, and I'll definitely be reading the next one. I just liked the first one a whole lot more.

Theory: each book will have a character on the front. Does that mean we're going to have SO MANY BOOKS?
