This book is cruel. It let me enjoy my time back with this crew and then it ripped my heart out and threw it into deep space. The plot of this series is solid, but it's the characters and their dynamics that I keep coming back for, and that made me read this 500 page book in two days
This series feels so comforting to me. It's probably the found family element, and knowing these characters well, but I think also the formulaic quality of the plot (not in a bad way at all) which lets me fully dive in and go along for the ride. I loved the expansion of the world in this sequel, and the depth we got to the characters and the story
I loved Auri's progression in this book and learning more about her place, as well as the history of the galaxy and how things are starting to slot together. I do think this felt like a middle book, setting things up for the next one, but not at all in a bad way. We had time to breathe in this book and get to know the characters even better
I am not going to address or look directly at the ending of this book because cliffhangers are RUDE but it's safe to say I will be reading the third book as soon as humanly possible

ABSOLUTELY loved this book, it was jammed packed with action and so much heart ache. The shocking ending maybe me scream and curse the authors, which isn't unusual when these two authors team up.

I will say this book was filled with a lot of action, but for some reason it still felt a bit slower than the first book. It was a lot of build up to finding out more stuff about aurora and her being the trigger.
But THE TWISTS AND TURNS OH MY GOD. FIRST SAEDII GETS INTRODUCED THEN WE FIND OUT HER AND KAL ARE THE STARSLAYERS KIDS. THE STARSLAYER IS A TRIGGER THAT USES THE WEAPON?!?! I honestly don't know who or what to believe with the whole eschavern stuff rn. I don't really like them but Aurora turns around at the very end. ALSO TYLER AND SCARLETTS MOM WAS SYLDRATHI OH MY WHHDIWKEKKE.
Tyler ily and I think him and saedii will definitely develop a relationship.
Being quite honest I like Kal and auroras relationship but it's a bit boring.

Also I feel really bad about cat still and how her as the rahamm has come up with Tyler a lot.
