Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff, I’m in your walls
The begining was 5⭐ up until page 260. Everything after that, I would rate 3⭐. The pages dragged a bit; I was less interested. The drama was happening in Tyler's POV and then we had everyone else's POV. This was one of few times when I wish a book had single POV. It was disappointing because I was really excited to give this book 5⭐.
ᕗ Plot
The action is much more high-stake in this book which I enjoyed. Again, the action was incredible in the first half of the book. Again, the action failed in the second half. The Eshvaran felt like a rip-off of the jedi and I hated them and how they treated Kal. The Echo felt like a rip-off of Yoda training Luke Skywalker. This book thrives with the right sort of action. After a while, you don't care if someone's going to die if you hate the character (a.k.a Aurora). The cliffhanger just felt disappointing and finished the overall flop of the second half of this book. I read 500 pages and it gave me nothing except for a loose ending and a page of acknowledgements.
ᕗ Characters
Aurora is a main problem not character. She irks me so much. I know she's been through a lot and she's 200 years out of her time but please, don't be a cry baby and don't be devoid of any personality.
Which is funny, because I like Zila and she's devoid of any emotion. Her character development in this book was incredible and I liked her even more. Her quick-thinking and logistics gets them out of situations and, in my personal opinion, she's the best pilot. What irks me with her though is that she always bigs up Aurora. Also, I confused her with Finian once.
Scarlett Jones is another favourite character. I mean who doesn't love her? Her P.O.V is my favourite to read. Tyler Jones flipped to i-hate-you to okay-you're-pretty-cool. I feel like his character developed a lot. His banter with Saedii is pretty amusing.
Kal. His personality in the beginning of the book was soaring and I was thinking "hey, favourite character?!" and then at the end of the book, my thoughts changed to "i know you dated Aurora but can you go back to being a good character?" And no, it wasn't because of what he did, I don't really think it's a massive deal. It's because he had no personality. I thought he was going to double-cross the team but then he ended up disappointing his whole character instead.
Finian De Seel. He carried the book and the team.
ᕗ Romance
Kal + Aurora = Good soulmates except that Aurora instantly lost faith in Kal. Least favourite ship.
Tyler + Saedii = Proper Enemies × Lovers. Saedii is good news for Tyler and the book.
Scarlett + Finian = Friends to lovers and a good ship.
I can't choose between these two.

Oh what the heck.
Why did it end so abruptlyyy. 100% would have given this five stars if it ended more cohesively.
I get why people say this wasn’t even a cliff hanger the book just felt cut smack dab in the middle of a fighting scene. Im still eating it up though.
i want more of Saedii and Tyler!!
