I genuinely didn't expect to fall in love with Astrid like this. As someone who is quite perfectionistic, I tend to be allergic to other people like me, however Ashley Herring Blake is so good at writing characters, I couldn't help but love Astrid.

It takes so much courage to change everything about your life in such a short period of time.

All the sex-scenes were so nice too. I feel like a lot of women struggle with orgasming, whether it's due to mental blockades or people who don't take their pleasure into account. It's nice to read about someone realizing it can be different. Everyone deserves to have someone who considers and prioritizes their pleasure over their own (as long as it's balanced). I now also need a clit necklace lmao.

The only thing that annoyed me was that the whole taking credit thing was Jordan's idea, yet Astrid had to take the blame for it. How could Astrid know that Jordan changed her mind about it if she didn't tell her? I understand that Astrid was kinda aware and that she felt bad, but Jordan could've taken Some accountability, too. She could've at least told the people around her that it was her own idea and not Astrid's 😭

⭐️⭐️⭐️

I really loved the first book in this series, so I was really excited for this one, but I just didn’t connect with this one in the same way. I really loved Jordan’s character but had a hard time connecting with Astrid.

[No direct spoilers, but vague plot references ahead]. The conflict towards the end also didn’t make a whole lot of sense to me— I could see why emotions would be high but not high enough to cause a break. The resolution scene is really well written but I felt like the conflict itself was just thrown in there to make the grand gesture scene possible.

There were also some side plots that just didn’t get enough attention. The entire reno itself didn’t feel as important as it’s supposed to be to the plot. The TV show setting had more potential then what was actualized. And the ghost??? This one just felt rushed to me.

I loved seeing Astrid question comp-het. It's nice to read interconnected romance books where I don't feel they truly standalone - ie I think if you read this without reading Delilah Green doesn't care first, would you believe that Astrid would just walk away like that from her 'dream'? Overall wholesome love story.

The third act break up was wack and made no sense. The romance itself was mid.
