Started slow with me wondering what I had got myself into. Felt there were a lot of spicy scenes with no plot until halfway through. But it still kept me intrigued by the MC short-term amnesia plot. When the emotional elements between the I'mya and Nyro start to become deeper, the story became much better and quicker-paced. A 5/5 on the spice scale! Will be continuing the series.

“You are the only one who shares my bed.
If I have to drench you in my seed, feed it to you until it is oozing out of your ears,
your nose, and your ass so that everyone understands you belong to me,
that is what I will fucking do!”

A Lair so Sinful
Book One
4.5/5

As most intro books go I think this was a very gentle-on your way to great things story.

The possibilities are endless!

I won’t rehash the blurb, my thoughts are it was a very well thought out story- felt rushed in some places but that could be me not wanting it to end? Or also because I’m used to the cliffhanger queen and extended scenes and whatnot so I wasn’t prepared for a full length story in one book

The Last Dragorai series by Zoey Ellis, beginning with A Lair So Sinful, also uses the Omegaverse dynamics, but this time it's about dragons and their bonded riders. Fourth Wing with weirder sexual dynamics? Had to try this one.

I'm going to lead with the bad stuff: I noticed that the early sexual encounters in this books, the FMC is being coerced. She's faced with death if she doesn't fulfill the role she apparently applied for, to be a concubine, but with no memory of this, and afraid of her surroundings and for her life, she's basically being raped. I have to state this because it's not the only time in this series or the other Zoey Ellis book I tried (below) where the omega FMC is raped, and not only is that a potential trigger, it makes for pretty problematic development of a healthy relationship. And it does get glossed over.

In this series, this book is the only one I've got to so far that really is problematic. The relationship dynamics in the others aren't the same. So why did you give it 5⭐️ you ask? Because it only just managed to sell to me that I'mya was actually very sexually attracted to Nyro, and enjoying the sex they had, even if she had little choice in the matter. And he does get faced with the problems he causes to some extent, and have to redeem himself. And... I couldn't help but enjoy it. It's a rare example of erotic fiction where the sex starts early but the character and relationship development continues well in the background, and the worldbuilding in this series is really great. The full cast of characters are interesting and very different, and their relationships are all different too. And I love the dragons.

I've also read the sequels A Lair So Loyal, A Lair So Primal, and am partway through A Lair So Fateful (but I'm finding that relationship a little tougher going due to the actual enemies part of enemies-to-lovers). The sequels follow each of Nyro's four dragorai brothers, and I'm enjoying the overarching series plot development too. But for all I've rated it highly for enjoyment, this series definitely has its flaws and may be too close to the line for some readers.

This was a freebie on the 2023 stuff your kindle day. I think I’m in a place personally where I need a lot more backstory/relationship building for a romance. The sub plot intrigued me but I was so confused in the first 15% that I didn’t know if Imaya was being assaulted by someone different or if that’s the precedent of her relationship with Nyro

‘She fitted his most basic physical preferences; full, heavy breasts, a round behind, and a tight, succulent kon’ ~ Nyro.

✓ Omegaverse Fantasy Romance.
✓ Intriguing universe.
Dragorai alpha male with their own dan askha [Dragon & Alpha pair; an animal and man].
✓ Well-constructed main plot and sub plot.
✓ Features a play boy hero's transition to a cave-man.
✓ In the presence of the female lead, there's never a dull moment.
✓ Part of a series but can be read as a standalone.

Warning : once you start, you cannot stop and the series isn't even completed yet!

A Lair So Sinful is my first Omegaverse romance which I couldn't get enough of. So much so that I completed it all in one-sitting.

Alongside the romance, I truly enjoyed reading about all the brothers, the community within the lairs as well as the introduction to Twin Realms. Especially looking forward to Khyros' story.

recommended series!

This is my first time reading a book by this author and I was not disappointed! The cover and synopsis had me hooked from the get go, I was eager to read it when I got my hands on it.

It stars a whole new world with dragons, magic and omegaverse aspects that was unlike any other book I’d read. The world building was easy to follow even though it was very detailed and complex.

It starts off with I’maya waking up naked in an unknown location with a bunch of other girls who all seemed oblivious to how weird their situation was. She soon realized that she was in the lair of one of the most powerful alphas there was, she was to loyally serve one of the last dragorai’s. However, that doesn’t answer her questions as to why she was there and why she remembers nothing of her past. Determined to get to the bottom of the truth she does what no other omega dares, she stands up to the dragorai, and doesn’t back down.

Nyro the dragorai bonded from birth to a Dragon making him one of the most powerful males there was, was not used to anyone fighting back the way I’maya did without fear. Quickly, he becomes enamoured by her fiery attitude and something more. She was the only human who has taken on the brunt of his magic and lived to see another day. I’maya immediately became a mystery he wished to solve and a prized possession that he was willing to protect at all costs, even if it meant going against all his usual protocols.

I’maya’s story follows the thrilling adventure of her hidden agenda for infiltrating the lair. What she doesn’t realize is that it was going to be a lot harder than she initially expected to complete the task she had come to do, especially when she begins to make friends and relationships within the lair. Will she be able to go through with what she needs to do? Find out by reading this twisted story of love, betrayal and sinful wishes that will leave both I’maya and Nyro in difficult positions.

Since this is the first book of a series, I found that it was very well set up. The world was built and the characters were developed intricately through their addicting plot laced with all kinds of twists and turns. The next book in the series will follow a different dragorai brother and his story within the same world.

SIDE NOTE: For those that enjoy more sexual/mature themes and content, this book has a lot of it! If that isn’t for you then I may advise reading on your own discretion based on your comfort level regarding these themes.
