3.5 stars. I was captivated by this book and read it in one evening. However, some of the characters made decisions that seemed out of character and - no offence, dumb. But I enjoyed it anyway, so I’m rounding up to four stars.

I really enjoyed this WWII historical fiction. It was told from the perspective of British women who were trained as secret agents. It focused on Marie and her journey from a struggling single mom in London who eventually works with the French resistance only to be betrayed and captured by the Germans.

Poorly written. It reads like the author underestimates the reader.

The Lost Girls of Paris, otherwise known as The Biggest Dumbass Survives While Good People All Die.

You cannot convince me that even in dire times of war a woman would fall so deeply in love with a guy after having literally ONE conversation with him that she'd refuse going back home to HER DAUGHTER because "she needs to find him." Josie was the one who deserved to live, not this damn loser.

Also, what was the purpose of having Grace in this story again?

This book has a little bit of everything: mystery, history, romance, friendship, action, drama, all of it. Following 3 women during and post WW2 in both Europe and The states, The Lost Girls of Paris paints a fictional story of the process, secrets, and unraveling of the special operations executive unit of the British army that sent spies (women and men) into enemy occupied territory. The historical accuracy is fascinating and the characters are well developed, but in the end I had to give it 3 stars because it tended to be pretty cliche and the ending didn’t give enough closure for me and left me dissatisfied.
