It’s a story of an author who never told her life story to anyone, and decides she will tell her last story to a biographer.

You are much like the biographer of the story.
Sort of confused, skeptical, and unsure if the story is real. But as the mystery unfolds, you become much more intrigued and aware. And finally, you get the answers you had been looking for all along.

Full of mystery, surprise, and family drama.

It was slow in the beginning, but once Vida Winter started telling her story, I was hooked.

What fun! A reclusive writer (Vida Winter) who has never been honest about her past finally tells her story to a bookish young woman (Margaret Lea). One of the blurbs on the back of the book says that it's a cross between Jane Eyre and Rebecca, and I must agree! The story of Vida Winter is heartbreaking and haunting; Margaret Lea owns a key to my heart. This book is great for anyone wanting to curl up in front of a fire for a rainy weekend (
