Like with Attack on Titan I could not go through with the anime (although I watched more episodes of Death Note than Attack on Titan). But I really loved this manga! I found that mangas are really enjoyable and easy to read, and these two are really good. I was not expecting it to be my kind of thing, but I'm really happy to have found them and now be reading them (it's addictive really!).

How is that an ending? I mean obviously it's not since this is only volume 1 but COME ON. Also the fact that the friend I borrowed this from doesn't have the next volume just further adds to my GRRRR.
Ok, this manga was smart. While Light was a little shithead, even I can't deny how brilliant he was in his plans. And every great antagonist has to have a even greater protagonist, enter L, just L. The clash of these two is incredible. It's like a game of wits and no one has the match point. Just when you think L is close to catching Light, Light jumps ahead, then L jumps ahead, the Light... you get the point. It's just crazy.
That's how I feel after reading this. So many things I need answers to. So many things I need to happen. But yet, here I sit. Flailing in my emotions.

I feel bad for saying this but I honestly forgot how good Death Note was. It's been a good while since I last read the manga or watched the anime but I must say that it has aged rather well. I'd forgotten how twisted Light was but how deviously smart he was at the same time. If you are at all interested in reading this manga I say pick it up, it is definitely worth your time.

This is my first ever manga and I really enjoyed it. The art style is pretty cool and the story is really interesting, with some unexpected plot twists. The one thing I really didn't like was the way women were portrayed - it was pretty misogynistic. But it wasn't so awful that I'm put off from continuing on with the story, and I'm definitely intrigued by the plot.
