5⭐️3🌶️ (several more spicy scenes than previous books and more detailed, explicit open-door)
I feel sorry for the people who gave up during the second book because this one was 🤌🏼 chef’s kiss! God I am so glad we got the slow burn and mystery of Sloane and Lucian in the previous 2 books because I was already foaming at the mouth for their story before I even started it.

The story picks up after sloane’s dad passes from cancer, and her mom asks if she and Lucian can finally put their feud aside and get to a civil place. You get a lot of witty banter and immature fights since they bring out the teenager in each other. Eventually they try to call a truce, and when that doesn’t pan out, Lucian suggests a one night stand to get each other out of their systems. The only problem is they can’t stay away from each other. When sloane starts receiving threats, Lucian is convinced Anthony Hugo is after her because they’re involved and everything he ever loved got taken away from him. There is a short and minor
third-act breakup
but it makes sense for the characters and the plot. It wasn’t dragged out like it was in book 1.

When more threats are made on sloane’s life, Lucian realizes he can’t live without her and just decides they’re in a relationship now lmao. I’m not going to lie the 180 from trying to get over her for her own safety to never letting her out of his sight again and finally making his obsession known was both funny and welcome. Normally the roles are reversed. Lucian is by far my favorite MMC of the series. He is constantly saying “tell me what you need” and “I’ll fix it”. He literally built his empire so she would think highly of him. He would commit murder or buy her a castle if she asked. He’s known her so long he can often read her thoughts just from her facial expression. He’s definitely one of the book boyfriends that stays with you. And the spice in this book is the best out of the three. I’ll just say that Lucian is definitely talks you through it.

Sloane is probably my favorite FMC of the series also. She has the funniest one-liners and knows exactly what she wants out of life and isn’t afraid to work hard to make it happen. I wish I could be part of her adult book club for real🥲

This book also gave a plot twist that I did not see coming! I love when stories surprise me. I’m so sad to have to leave knockemout but I’ve decided I probably will come back to this series in the future, maybe even just this book on its own. I will miss all of the characters and their quirks. I don’t give 5 stars lightly but this was just the perfect wrap up to this series.

The final Knockemout book - Things We Left Behind 💜

Genre: Romance
Trope: friends to lovers to enemies
Format: 🎧
Audiobook Narration:  ☆☆☆☆☆
Pub Date: 9.5.2023
Star Rating: ☆☆☆☆☆

“Grief had a way of infiltrating everything, even when you were prepared for it.”

All good things must end, and Lucy Score went out with a bang for her Knockemout Trilogy. I never imagined Score could top her other two books - I’d heard that she did, but I didn’t believe it. Well, I’m here to say that they were all right - Things We Left Behind was phenomenal.

The third and final book came in at 592 pages; every page was worth it. We had friends to enemies to lovers (new favorite, btw), adventure, humor, action, so many emotions, and some of the steamiest scenes I’ve ever read. I can’t begin to tell you how hard it was to read about the past that Lucian and Sloane shared, that we have never been privy to (I don’t want to give away any spoilers). However, Lucy Score handled their story with such respect and kindness that it made me cry several times. Then there’s the storyline involving Sloane’s dad that just wrecked me.

I absolutely loved this series and am so glad I took the time to read about all the people in Knockemout. I can’t wait to read more of Lucy Score's writing.

I love this entire series but this one is my absolute favourite. It's enemies to lovers meets small town romance meets second chance meets childhood friends. It is perfect. This is the kind romance book that doesn't leave you wondering how everything ended for all the characters because everything is wrapped up perfectly in the end

I've read a handful of Lucy Score books, and this is, hands down, the best of the best. Such a well written friends to enemies to lovers that will steal your heart (and tears). I absolutely loved Lucian and Sloane's story. The never-ending banter and the spice, oh my. Lucian captivated my interest from book 1, and his story in book 3 was so worth the wait. Not to mention the subtle nods to the previous titles. Just *gah*. I'm so sad it's over.
