Louise Penny is a masterful storyteller - at this point in the series I am fully immersed in the world and characters in three pines. Each book on its own is lovely, but it is the meta narrative of the series that has really captured me. This was my first time listening vs reading and I loved the voice of the narrator.

V sérii "Případy vrchního inspektora Gamache", na sebe jednotlivé knihy navazují a tak se dá předpokládat, že k 9. dílu se většinou dopracují jen ti, kteří si tuto sérii oblíbili. V tomto případě, by pak četba obzvláště ztratila na poutavosti, bez znalosti předchozích událostí a souvislostí, které jsou v něm několikrát zmíněny a na které se tu odkazuje.

Pro mě jsou knihy této série, skutečně srdeční záležitostí. Nebyl snad jediný díl, který by mě zklamal a tak si je šetřím a dopřávám, jako odměnu i pohlazení.
A i když si to jen nerada přiznávám, z tohoto dílu jsem však, na základě anotace, měla docela strach a už nějakou dobu jeho přečtení, odkládala. Louise Penny ale, opět nezklamala - naopak. Příběh je to skvěle vystavěný, o "pětce" jsem neměla tušení a sama o sobě byla velice zajímavá. Příběh samotného Gamache, i když byl trochu neuvěřitelný, pak působil velice silně. Pro mě je tato kniha zatím, nejlepší z celé série. Kdyby byla možnost dát vyšší počet hvězdiček, s nadšením přihazuji.

Puh, bis jetzt der Band, den ich am besten bewerte, wobei ich nicht mal sagen kann, dass es mein Lieblingsband war... Oder vielleicht doch? Es war aber definitiv der spannendste zum Lesen. Der Fall war immer wieder nur im Hintergrund eine Bemerkung, dafür aber Gamaches Story mehr und oh die war intensiv. Einige Mal war ich zu Tränen gerührt, weil es so traurig und düster dieses Mal war. Das Ende war schön, wenn auch etwas plötzlich. Bin mir noch nicht ganz sicher, was ich davon halte.
