Loved "Best New Horror", "My Father's Mask", and "Voluntary Aquittal". They were able to either properly unnerve me or leave me considering the story's details well after the last page was turned. "20th Century Ghost" and "Pop Art" are also worthy of recommendation.

More or less a fan, had a lot of up and down, either loved or didn't jive. 20th Century Ghosts was probably my favorite short.

Pop Art is the best short stories I have read in at least a decade.

First things first, i've never been a great fan of short stories. I enjoyed Hill's book "heart shaped box" and "strange weather". These stories were all over the place as far as their 'theme's' went. Most will fade away but a few of them will stick with me. I look forward to seeing if any of the characters make it into future novels. I usually only read short story compilations of authors whom i already love and usually when i have completed their existing novels.

This is a really fun short story collection. I thought it would cater more to the horror side of things, but I found a lot of stories heartwarming, heartbreaking, adventurous, and so on. There were definitely horror elements within, but the focus on other themes really helped the collection feel unique in its scope. Solid stuff.
