Ok I'm now officially a Dante fan. The amount of work and insight that went into these epics is insane and I wish I knew Italian so I could get the full effect. That being said, this was a great translation and would highly recommend.
I loved getting all the theological discussions in this installment in particular. It's just fascinating and I'm sure I could read this every year for the rest of my life and find something new each time. This definitely deserves a reread in the near future.

Again, a splendid work by Dante Alighieri. This book is "deeper" than Inferno so a lot of thinking must be done in order to understand this book. Aside from the notes at the back of the book, reading some analysis online would help in understanding this book.

I read this after reading The Inferno with Dr. Coulter. I have stalled here, still awaiting the right time to get to Paradiso...
I'm taking a class entitled "Purgatorio and the nature of forgiveness" so this may take a while. - And great fun it was too!
My favorite portion of the Commedia and more than the other canticles, a demonstration of Dante's absolute mastery as a poet, philosopher and storyteller.
