This latest Reacher installment is a great, exciting read. Through chance, Reacher finds himself stuck in snow storm in a small South Dakota town. The town's police are in a situation that turns out to be over their heads, and they need Reacher's help. The book connects him up with the new CO of the 110th, giving us more background on his military career. Be warned - the ending will have you wanting more. Best Reacher novel in a while.

Enjoyed but I wanted him to end up even for a day in Virginia

Still enjoying this series, today is the first time I wished I was reading them in order, but it is not a big deal. The narration contiues to be outstanding with Dick Hill - so happy they made the change from the original fellow. There were some interesting storis within the story on this one - have to hand it to the author for keeping it fresh.

My first Reacher novel. I really liked some aspects of this book: the supporting characters were well-drawn and interesting, and there were some clever twists in the plot. The setting was also particularly well-done, both in terms of dealing with the harshness of winter in vivid detail, but also in depicting small-town politics. I had figured out the villain well before the reveal, and found the ending disappointing. Up until the last fifty pages or so, this was a five-star book for me.

This one felt super familiar so maybe I've read it before. Was an okay read but that cliffhanger was a nit unnecessary.

One of the better installments of this series. As always, the best Reacher stories seem to be when he's a fish out of water, on his own, and not directly working with law enforcement (Persuader being an exception).

Probably a 3.5 rating. However, as I read it in pretty much one go, then it was a really enjoyable read.

Feels a bit slow and aimless at the beginning, but once it picked up, it picked up goood. Some good relationships and testing of Reacher’s character. Big cliffhanger. Very excited to see where the story continues.
