Thanks to a bus accident - Reacher lands in Bolton, South Dakota during a snow storm and deep freeze. We have a group of meth using bikers living in an abandoned Air Force facility west of town. Their leader is awaiting trial on a drug bust, which was witnessed by former librarian Mrs. Salter - the prosecutions only witness. Rumor has it that the unknown mastermind of the meth operation is sending an assassin to town to kill anyone who might help the prosecution. In the 61+ hours that Reacher is in town he befriends the man who is next in line to be Chief of Police, protects Mrs. Salter, has multiple calls with the current CO of his former Army Unit, rattles off some classic Reacher smart ass comments - figures out who the assassin is - kills the mastermind of the drug operation - and in the end - we're not sure what happens to Reacher at the end. There is an explosion at the abandoned facility - carnage and wreckage abound. Did Lee Child kill off Reacher in this book?

Unlike the other Reacher stories, very early on I found myself questioning one particular character and suspecting him to be the rat in the ointment. Usually I am in the dark until almost the end ... this time, it seems, I was right on track. Nevertheless, as with all the other Reacher stories I've read thus far, I could not put it down until it was done. My only issue was the cliffhanger ending - most unusual and caused me to go looking for #15 straight away. Nevermind that it was 3 in the morning, I *had* to know what happened.
Note that it isn't necessary to read 61 Hours before reading Worth Dying For; but if you've read 61 Hours I guarantee you'll want to go get Worth Dying For immediately.

Probably a biased review because these are my go-to for a one day keep you on edge read and this one like most of the others accomplished that goal. Had what I expect from reacher - danger, corruption, twists, and suspense. Mexican mafia vs Russian mafia, secret meth stash, and a local of in South Dakota.
