While 61 Hours never failed to keep my attention, it perhaps is a sign that Lee Child's run out of ideas. In a series that used to be tense and full of twists and turns, the plot is preposterous, the double cross is easy to spot, and the book is strangely devoid of action, a worthy villain, or much to care about.
I didn't hate it, but it's the second worst Reacher so far.

(No Spoilers.) 4.5 Stars. After the disappointing Gone Tomorrow, Lee Child redeems Reacher with 61 Hours. A tad slow at the start and then the plot just hooked me along. Well-written and some of the one-liners were delightful! Reacher's new friend was great fun! Some poignant lines show the series matures with age. May Child and Reacher live long lives!

This is a much better than average Jack Reacher story.
The countdown format really drove me nuts, but it also kept me curious.
3.5 stars. Standard Reacher fare, but I found the ending to be a bit predictable. Still a quick, enjoyable read.
These are undeniably "pulp" thrillers, but there's a certain cleverness about the writing that makes these books fun to read. I love the Reacher books and demolish them in a weekend.
