I really enjoyed the previous volume, but this is just way better. I picked it up and by the second page I was already at the edge of my seat.
Each character faces their own conflicts, with small moments tying them all together, and I was invested in all of them.
Golden Gail is revealed to have dated her biggest villain after retiring, and in the present day she tries to commit suicide.
Colonel Weird and Walkie Talkie's relationship is explored with a few hilarious flashbacks, but in the present day Colonel Weird kills him for a reason still unknown.
Barbalien expresses his feelings for a priest, who rejects and outs him. His co-workers mock him and write homophobia slurs on his property, so he decides to leave.
Abe's girlfriend is apparently still not divorced and her husband beats her. Dragonfly kills the husband, which gets Abe into legal trouble.
This was a great satire of superheroes, but one made with love for the genre ( unlike The Boys ).
