I did have some suspicion for the ones who did it before the end and I'm glad I was right.

  Unfortunately for me I will be continuing a series that has at least two more books and potentially more from what the author has said.

This was such a fun read! It blends fantasy elements and a unique magic system with a murder mystery. I especially loved the dynamic between Ana, the eccentric senior investigator, and Din, her young apprentice: both quirky in their own distinct and likable ways. The story kept me guessing with a layered, clever plot that was still easy to follow. I listened to the audiobook, which was well produced and narrated. Looking forward to book two in the series!
