I was surprised by how much I liked this book.

From reading other discussions about the series, it seems that the first three are universally loved, and then the 4th one is good too, and then the rest seem to be hit or miss, depending on personal preference.

For me, it's at least my 4th favorite book, maybe I liked it better than the 2nd book.

What I loved about the book is the character development, and the plot of the book was great at showing how much Artemis matured.

I normally don't like time travel in book series because it tends to take away from the gravity of all other conflicts ['why don't they just go back in time?!'], except in cases where the story is so good that it's totally worth it, and I think that was the case in this book.

This book got a mixed response for sure, but I am on team positive. It may not have come together as well as Eoin Colfter's other works, but for me there was plenty of good stuff to enjoy including Eoin Colfter's signature humor.

Not my favorite out of the Artemis Fowl series, but still interesting. The thought of going back in time and facing yourself in a battle was eerie, and interesting to see how Artemis had matured and gottne over himself a little since the first book.

Out of all the things that happened in this book I am mainly excited about 2 things:
1) THE KISS! I hope this maybe develops into something? Although is that weird? Because of the cross-species-ness of it, and the fact that she is like 70 years older...? Even in relative ages, she must be older since she is employed and not in school?
2) I am excited to see what happens with Artemis' mother knowing everything.

An obnoxious, pig headed protagonist who inches closer to being a well liked human being. This roughly sums up the Artemis Fowl series. Although I have enjoyed the series well, I somehow cannot shake off the feeling that I used to like the devious version of Artemis more. With the last few versions of the story, it somehow seems to veer into a more predictable turn of affairs.

It is time travel this time and a version of Artemis v/s Artemis. It is enjoyable but a tad too melodramatic than its predecessors. Melodrama and emotion in stories are like those ingredients which if not mixed well will make the entire dish go sour. It happened to me here & this is the only Fowl book which did not agree with my appetite completely.

Why the 3-stars rating then ? For the wit in the most unexpected of places.
