In general, I don't like time travel plots, because most have plot holes that you can drive a tanker through...this one is no exception. I think this is the weakest in the series, thus far, though it wasn't bad enough for me to discontinue.

The latest Artemis Fowl, and one of the best! This was great. Artemis's mother is sick and the only thing that can cure her is a lemur which is now extinct thanks to a younger Artemis. Now 14 yr. old Arty must go back in time and outsmart 10 yr. old Arty. Very good story.

An outlandish and very entertaining high octane adventure.

A really great read for anyone who is a fan of that genius Artemis Fowl or time travel. Brilliant plot with lots of action! Just remember that time travel CAN get a little confusing!

Book six in the Artemis Fowl series.

Artemis's mother is dying. When Artemis tries to use the last of his stolen magic to heal her, he only manages to make her condition worse. After summoning Holly to help, he discovers that his mother has a magical disease called spelltropy. The only known cure comes from the extinct African lemur. Artemis caused the death of the last one while trying to fund an expedition to save his father.

Artemis guilts Holly into traveling back in time with him to undo the damage and save that last lemur. They race against time (literally) to save the lemur before it is too late.

But even with the help of the demon warlock, No. 1, events might get too twisted to ever untangle. Not only does an old enemy reappear, but Artemis must also face a 10-year-old Artemis, who is ruthless enough to sabotage the entire mission.

I was disappointed that Artemis's love interest from the previous book never showed up. I also wanted to know more about the demons. Mulch Diggums is my favorite character and did not have as much fun as in previous books. While the book kept me entertained, the story became difficult to follow as it kept twisting in on itself. That pesky time paradox...

Not my favorite Artemis Fowl book, but a wild and hilarious adventure nonetheless!

Overall, I liked this book. It's always difficult writing a time traveling book with all the plots that can be messed with. The only thing I think Eoin Colfer did wrong wasn't the discrepancies with the time traveling, but rather with the last book. What happened to that girl Artemis had at the end of Lost Colony? She stopped by for three years, waiting for Artemis and we don't even get a small back story as to what happened between the two of them. Hopefully this is answered next book, but I think the whole Holly kiss thing will get more attention. Weird.
