It was only a matter of time until Eoin Colfer's Artemis Fowl series encountered time travel, and he handled it with the same wonderful thoughtfulness that the rest of the series has.
I love Artemis I'm a great fan of this series, and I thought this book was a great improvement from some of them! My only complaint is how short it was, and the series could use a few new villains.
Oh my god. I've been waiting to read the last of these books for years, and I think, I've finally done it. In this book, Artemis' mother, Angelina, is sick with what Artemis and his fairy friends believe is Spelltropy. Artemis and Holly, a LEP captain/ Elf, go back in time with the help of Foaly, a Centaur, and N1, a Warlock Demon. They find a silky sifaka Lemur that has the cure, but go through a lot of trouble with the younger Artemis, Extictionist and Opal Koboi, an evil Pixie. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys fantasy and that loves adventure stories. This book, and the entire series is amazing. Everyone should read it.

I remembered this to be way better and was kind of disappointed to realize the book was a struggle to finish. I love the magical world Eoin Colfer has created but these later additions just don't carry the same wonders as the first four books.
What I appreciate here is of course THE KISS, seeing Julius Root again in a touching scene, and also the way Colfer pulls of the time paradox. Time travel actually works here, which is really impressive. BUT. Even if we are not talking about the time paradox, the plot was too full of everything. If you have four different parties to a conflict, all battling each other and occasionally joining forces, it's too much. If you don't have enough room to breathe between (entertaining but too frequent) action sequences, it's too much. If you think three times "this is the end" and then something always happens and prolongs the book, it's too much. And additionally, I didn't feel like this book added anything new to the characters, except for THE KISS and maybe the end with Artemis's mom. But Artemis, Mulch, and Foaly all felt weaker than normal, and there was barely any Butler and no Juliet.
So not the best part of the series, and I seem to remember the way is not up after this one. Let's continue rereading the books and see how it turns out.

Loving Artemis' development. On to the next installment.
I LOVED THIS. This series is getting better and better and never fail to amaze me. I'm pretty sure Eoin Colfer has put the mesmer in his book xD. This time Artemis is on the mission to find the cure for his mom. I like the idea of time-travel and Artemis is outsmarted by his 10-year-old self in the past.
The last 50% the book blew me away especially the ending. It's is soooooooo good.
Another book that I would like to give a million stars to.
