Man, I hate that I finished this book out of obligation, but it just didn’t hit the same way The Dead Romantics The Seven-Year Slip did. I appreciate Ashley Poston’s grounded magical realism-romance style, but I was struggling to connect with any of the characters and couldn’t muster up the interest in rooting for Elsy. This book was just ok,
and the in-book book club shitting on The Dead Romantics towards the end of the story didn’t help either. It’s a superior book!!

3.5 ⭐️ I liked this but I didn’t love it. It was cute but the romance felt a bit rushed. Enjoyable nonetheless!

It reminded me of the tv show once upon a time but over all this was a good romance book and the kinda plot twist was good even tho I had a hunch about 3/4 of the way. I loved Eileen character development and her interacting with the book characters

These stories make me so happy!

Pues al final me ha gustado un montón. Es cierto que me ha dejado con una sensación algo rara.

También siento que este libro podría ser un ataque constante a mi vida, altamente representada y eso siempre gana el cora.

⭐️4.5/5

This book left me feeling so many things. It’s one of those books that was impossible for me to skim over any line because they were all there for a good reason and never felt like filler. My attention was fully kept for the entirety of the book and I was fully engaged in finding out what happened next. I loved the originality of the concept and the writing was masterful. The plot twist even managed to catch me by surprise (and bring me to tears).

This was a book where I actually felt like I could feel the yearning and growing affection, and it didn’t feel like the romance came out of nowhere. I’ve been frustrated lately reading books where the romances have felt underdeveloped and unbelievable in favor of getting to the spice, but that was not the case here. I fully believed in this romance to the core.

I felt like all of the details of the plot and conflict were tied up very well, and I loved the ending. This book overall just left me with overwhelming warm and fuzzy feelings. Will absolutely be a repeat read for me.

It took me a while to get into it, the premise sounded nice in a way, but because you don't know the book series she enters into, it sort of felt like I should be excited about being there but I didn't know anything about it. It also meant there were a lot of characters, and that you sort of learned parts of another story in this one, but idk, not in s good way. Maybe I just wasn't feeling this right now or something, idk. I liked the characters together in the end and didn't really see coming what the sort of revelation was, but I didn't feel like I was totally in the story like I can be with books
