I loved the unique format of the book, with a mix of narrative and documentary styles. With a full cast on the audiobook, I felt like I was actually watching the documentary. Highly recommend the audio version! While all the characters were frustrating at some point (so much drama and poor decision making!), overall they were generally likeable and I was hooked on the storyline to see what would happen to each by the end of the book. I enjoyed the intriguing behind the scenes depiction of competitive ice dancing and also appreciated that the book spanned so many years so the reader could really invest in the characters' stories.

Every time I picked up this book, I felt stressed about reading it. I’m glad I did as I read spoilers of the ending and I would have absolutely hated that. The way the FMC is treated is absolutely vile and she just rolls over and takes it, which is very contrary to how she is at the beginning of the book.

4.99⭐️ because there were mentions of specific modern pop songs, like Taylor Swift, that took me out of the folds of the novel and felt a little too basic

otherwise, i truly couldn’t put this book down, or stop thinking about it despite sleeping or watching other movies. i was obsessed with it

writing style reminds me of the many lives of kat cay, the wedding people, and somewhat abby jimenez doing genre bending

wowww
